MADALINA NICOLESCU

Es originaria de Rumania. Concluyó sus estudios universitarios de viola y Maestría en la Academia de Música de Malmö ( UNIVERSIDAD DE LUND ), en Suecia.

Antes de residir en México, tuvo la oportunidad de trabajar y participar en Festivales Internacionales en diferentes países del mundo como Suecia, Dinamarca, Italia y Holanda.

Madalina Nicolescu ha participado en varias clases magistrales de viola y orquesta con Nikolaj Znaider, Ludovic Marlot, Criag Mumm, Miriam Harman, Dimitri Golovanov, Odin Rathnam, Roger Chase, Tatjana Masurenko, Tim Boulton, entre otros.

Ha colaborado con la Ópera Regal de Dinamarca y con la Ópera de Malmö, Suecia. Actualmente es solista y músico de cámara, colaborando con varias orquestas en México como la Orquesta Filarmónica de Jalisco, la Orquesta Sinfónica de Aguascalientes, la Orquesta de Cámara de Bellas Artes, la Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería y la OFUNAM, entre otras.

Su discografía incluye: Cuartetos Mexicanos, e Imágenes con el Cuarteto Aurora. También es una talentosa pintora y ha desarrollado más esta faceta en los tiempos del Covid, además de realizar recitales privados y en línea.


En 2011 tuvo la oportunidad de presentar su colección pictórica de obras al óleo: ALMAS GEMELAS en el Museo Histórico Naval de Puerto Vallarta.


Como solista ha colaborado con excelentes pianistas como: Timothy G. Ruff Welch, Giacomo Battarino, Max Lorstad, Rachid Bernal, Victor Hidalgo Trejo, y ahora Sergio Vázquez, entre otros.


En 2018/2019 tuvo la oportunidad de estudiar en Toluca, con el excelente maestro Armen Agabekyan, profesor del Conservatorio de Música del Estado de Mexico EDOMEX, como parte del programa de becas del SNGA INBAL.


Desde 2015 forma parte de la sección de violas de la Orquesta del Teatro de Bellas Artes, también es músico de cámara y miembro del Cuarteto Aurora, el Duo Anima Libera y el Duo Intermezzo con grandes pianistas como Sergio Vazquez y Timothy G. Ruff Welch.

En 2024, y como parte del Dúo Anima Libera grabó junto al pianista Sergio Vázquez un disco de música mexicana que fue lanzado bajo el sello de Urtext Digital Classics.

 

MADALINA NICOLESCU

Maddy Nicolescu is a highly accomplished Romanian born violist, soloist, and chamber musician based in Mexico. She completed her studies at the Malmö Academy of Music in Sweden, affiliated with Lund University, where she obtained a Master's Degree (M.M.) in Classical Viola Performance. Maddy has actively participated in several international festivals held in Sweden, Denmark, Italy, and the Netherlands, showcasing her exceptional talent on the viola.

Throughout her career, Maddy has had benefited from the guidance of esteemed mentors from the Classical Music field such as Henrik Frendin ( Professor at Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm / Malmö Academy of Music ) and Rafael Altino ( Acclaimed Soloist and Principal Violist of Odense Symphony Orchestra ).

She has further enhanced her musical skills by attending master classes and orchestra courses taught by renowned figures in the music industry, including Nikolaj Znaider, Ludovic Morlot, Craig Mumm, Miriam Hartman, Dimitri Golovanov, Odin Rathnam, Roger Chase, Simon Rowland Jones, Tatjana Masurenko, Tim Boulton, and many others.

As an orchestra musician, Maddy has collaborated with prestigious ensembles, including the Malmö Opera Orchestra, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Danish Royal Opera, Jalisco Philharmonic, Aguascalientes Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Fine Arts, and the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Autonomous University of Mexico (OFUNAM), among others. Her contributions as a violist have been highly valued in these musical collaborations.

In 2018/2019, Maddy had the opportunity to study with Professor Armen Agabekyan at the State of Mexico Conservatory of Music (EDOMEX) in Toluca, Mexico, as part of the scholarship program of SNGA INBAL, further expanding her musical horizons.

In addition to her musical pursuits, Maddy is a talented painter and a multilingual speaker who enjoys traveling and spending quality time with loved ones. She occasionally organizes personal art exhibitions and, during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, has been working as a virtual assistant and social media manager for artists and performers. Maddy has made notable contributions to the world of music through her discography, which includes recordings such as "Cuartetos Mexicanos" and "Imagenes" with Cuarteto Aurora.

As a soloist, Maddy has collaborated with exceptional pianists such as Timothy G. Ruff Welch, Giacomo Battarino, Max Lorstad, Rachid Bernal, Victor Hidalgo Trejo, and Sergio Vázquez, among others. In 2011, she had the privilege of presenting her art collection of oil paintings titled "SOUL MATES" at the Historical Navy Museum in Puerto Vallarta, showcasing her artistic talents alongside her musical achievements.

Currently, Maddy is a permanent member of the Fine Arts Theatre Orchestra (Bellas Artes) in Mexico City and serves as a violist in the esteemed Aurora Piano Quartet, Duo Anima Libera, and Duo Intermezzo alongside fantastic pianists such as Sergio Vazquez and Timothy G. Ruff Welch. Her involvement in these marvellous ensembles further solidifies her status as an accomplished and versatile musician in the vibrant Mexican music scene.

In 2024 she recorded her first debut solo album featuring fantastic works by renewed mexican composers, with pianist Sergio Vázquez, under the label Urtext Digital Classics, which marks a significant milestone in her musical journey. This collaboration suggests a dedication to both artistic expression and musical excellence.
