Cuarteto Aurora I Aurora Piano Quartet

Is a female ensemble founded in 2004 thanks to the entusiastic impulse of Inese Salaks and it gathers the considerable talents of Vera Koulkova, at the violin, Maddy Nicolescu at the viola, Sona Poshotyan at the cello, and Camelia Goila at the piano. Since then the ensemble has performed all over Mexico and some cities of the United States. Although its wide repertoire inludes music from diverse styles that go from the 18th century to the present, the quartet has a commitment to contemporary music and composers and promotesthe creation of new works for this instrumental scoring. These include Sinergias a cuatro by Manuel de Elias, Cuarteto by Natasia Khroustcheva, Imagenes by Gerardo Meza, Arboles y Raices by Ana Cristina Caelen, Concierto Barocco by Enrique Gonzalez- Medina and Por la Neva by Horacio Uribe. I would like to express my deepest and profound gratitude to Maestra Marisa Canales and Urtext Digital Classics Recording Company for creating this wonderful recording project, and also for allowing me to personalize my unique art work Soul Mates on the Cover of this CD. Your dedication to fomenting the composition and promotion of new classical music works, among the most important Mexican composers is highly celebrated and appreciated.
